Biodiversity is wealth

Ever since learning about the richness of the tropical rainforest as a child, I’ve been amazed and disappointed that our society has not aspired to protect life above all else. The relentless pursuit of an ever-increasing Gross Domestic Product ignores the basic fact that we must all share a single planet with limited life-supporting resources.

Using biodiversity as bottom-line metric for wealth, I have focused my career on growing my community more than my finances. This is rooted in the repeated advice from elders that our relationships are more important than our personal resources.
